Whew! What a month! Between snow storms and case studies, I finally had a split second to write! Cheers...We stood in the tasting room at Glenora Winery, overlooking Seneca Lake and rolling hills of vines...little did we know, some of them were actually Seyval Blanc!
Not your average varietal! We tasted this wine, off-the-cuff, as it was described as similar to pinot grigio", and "goes well with grilled salmon" (which is a staple in my house!). We tasted...we were pleased!
Citrus flavors...medium-dry...peaches. They put it on oak, so a bit of spice comes through. It's lovely!
Pick out a Seyval Blanc to next time you are wine shopping...or some other outside-of-the-box varietal! Chances are, you will be pleasantly surprised, too.
