I was thinking about tasty beer recommendations for autumn, and recalled a wonderful sipping beer for a cool, college football Saturday.
Last winter, I remember enjoying a special Imperial Russian Stout from Stone Brewing Company. This heavy-hitter is thick and delicious ... so much that the brewery describes it as "black as sin".
It's full-bodied, malty, roasty-toasty, and was rated a 97% on Beer Advocate, last I checked! In my tasting notes, I notes a bit of licorice, which I recall being a unique characteristic.
