Gewurztraminer + Thai

The dinner: Noodi, our favorite Thai place, one of our fave BYOBs. The wine: Prejean Gewurztraminer, with Drunken Noodle and Green Curry. Mmmm, a perfect pair!

This is a great Finger Lakes,NY semi-dry, with floral aromatics, fruit, and a touch-of-sweetness. It is a true representation of what a good Gewurz should be. Gewurtztraminer is a grape originally grown in cooler regions of Europe, primarily Germany. The terroir is is similar to that of the Finger Lakes, NY region. Therefore, I have found this varietal to do quite well in NY.

Besides Thai, sushi, or Chinese cuisine, I think Gewurtz works well with many great summer meals, too: especially spiced, grilled chicken, fish, pork, or veggies.

As they say in Germany, Guten Appetit!
